My first week as America's First Lady All Nation's Universal

First to introduce myself. My name is Cindy Sampson and I have been married to my husband for over 20 years. We currently reside in Northern Texas. We have twin 15 year old boys. They are extremely active and keep me on my toes. In my free time I enjoy doing 5ks, DIY Home Décor, and reading Historical biographies. I developed a platform that I am very passionate about called Equipped for Success.

Tyler's perseverance and my families encouragement inspired me to create my platform Equipped for Success as well as compete in pageants. Equipped for success is a platform that was designed to connect amputees and their families to resources in order to help them be successful. I also am an advocate for the Amputee Coalition of America. We work to protect the rights of amputees and change laws to allow them to receive prosthetics for life. Lastly, I have partnered with Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children to provide prosthetics to children regardless of their ability to pay. Most insurance companies do not pay for all or only a partial amount for prosthetics. Most prosthetics average around $50,000 for a basic arm. We believe that prosthetics are a necessity and not a privilege.

So wow what a crazy 2 weeks it has been! I wanted to take some time to let it sink in that I won that Ultimate title of in the pageant and reflect on what this new title means to me.

The first week, I planned to take some time off to give myself a break and recover from the pageant. However, this just is not in my nature. If I am not busy doing something, I will get extremely bored.

The first order of business was to go to the Deborah Duncan from "Great Day Houston" as the newly crowned America's First Lady All Nation's Universal to crown her as "Talk show of the Year". Miss Duncan's show is on KHOU channel 11 in Houston Texas. She had a very busy show and decided to make it official at her 10 year anniversary the next week. I was not able to attend, but my beautiful sister queen, Estela Munguia did a lovely job, along with other of my sisters. Deborah Duncan was most gracious and looked lovely as ever.

My next event, I was invited to be a guest at Keeper of the Game's  (http://www.keeperofthegame.org/) fundraiser for children with challenges and help them through the game of baseball at the newly opened Rock & Brews in The Colony, Texas. I am very happy to help support Keeper of the Game. They have done a great deal for my family and exclusively, my son Tyler. Tyler was born without a right arm just below his elbow. However, he has overcome his obstacles and plays JV baseball for his high-school as well as a select club JV 16U team. Tyler just turned 15, so this is a huge accomplishment for him.

With my new title, I hope to use my new title to raise more awareness about how inspiring amputees are and connect even more people with resources to help them be successful. I also want to reach out to women of all nations or anyone with challenges and encourage them always pursue their dreams and goals.

I am very grateful to my family, friends, sponsors, and organizations that have helped me to be successful and spread the word about Equipped for Success. I could have never done this without any of you, I look forward to what the next year has to bring.
